What we are looking for:

  • Work with HSE Manager to assure all production employees committed to safety program, rules and regulations
  • Meet regularly with HSE manager to discuss any problems or concerns
  • Monitor and look for ways to improve shop safety
  • Perform daily shop walk through with focus on any potential unsafe conditions, including assuring all employees on the shop floor and visitors in the supervisor’s area are wearing the required PPE and following DSCO regulations
  • Assists HSE Manager as needed with safety training, accident reports and investigations
  • Accountable for safety in the coatings facility; monitors and evaluates safety
  • Responsible for adherence of coatings facility employees to current safety rules
  • Assures coordination with Production Manager on equipment repair and breakdowns to minimize impact on production
  • General accuracy inspection of all work under supervision
  • Responsible for receipt, storage, identification and organization of material for the coatings facility
  • Answers questions on drawings
  • Checks material availability
  • Understanding of surface preparation of structural steel per SSPC standards with safe operation of sand blasting
  • Responsible for cleanliness of coatings facility including the organization of tools and equipment
  • Schedules PTO for efficient production, assuring PTO day requests and records are kept for each employee
  • Assigns employees each day. Re-assigns during the day as production needs or employee absence deems necessary
  • Reports progress on each job to the Production Manager daily
  • Blueprint reading
  • Supervises coatings facility flow as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining the ability to operate all equipment within coatings facility
  • Keeps time for employees in coatings facility
  • Counseling employees on work related matters
  • Handles discipline in shop. Gives verbal and written warnings. Keeps records of same for further action
  • Responsible for adherence of coatings facility established procedures
  • Trains new employees under supervision in coatings facility
  • Various duties as assigned by management as needs arise
  • Five years experience in structural steel coatings facility.
  • Must have reading, writing, and verbal skills to comprehend and communicate Company Safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of facility inspections, checklists, basic filing and recordkeeping processes.
  • Must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Required certification to drive a forklift and man lifts as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
