In retrieving oil from the oil sands of Northern Alberta, Shell creates a slurry to move the mined oil sands to a processing facility.   The pumps that push this slurry are housed in modular pump houses that can move as the mining locations move.  Dave Steel Company’s challenge was to meet critical deadlines to fabricate and ship to Edmonton, where each module is completed with all mechanical and electrical systems, and then shipped to the site as a working unit.
