Dave Steel Company, Inc. a leading structural steel construction company located in Asheville, NC announced today that Tim Heffner has been elected President and Chief Operating Officer. With this appointment, Heffner becomes only the fifth President in the company’s 92 year history, and the first non-Dave Family member. In this role, Heffner will be responsible for all day to day activities and operations of the company. Jeffrey Dave will continue his role as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Dave will also continue with industry activities including continuing on as an active member of the American Institute of Steel Construction Board of Directors, of which he served as Chair from 2013 to 2015.

Heffner’s career started as a structural engineer, working in the consulting engineering field before joining the steel fabrication industry over 30 years ago. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from NC State University and a MBA from UNC Greensboro. He has been an active participant in the regional fabrication industry through the Virginia Carolinas Structural Steel Fabrication Association holding the officer positions of Treasurer, Vice President and President. Tim Heffner previously served as Vice President of Sales / Marketing at Dave Steel Company for 27 years, and has helped lead the growth of the company from a regional fabrication company to
serving projects throughout the nation.
